Ouagadougou: Sixty-five young Burkinabe participating in the Youth Employment and Skills Development Support Program in Rural Areas (PADEJ-MR) had the opportunity to engage with the program coordinator, Yannick Koussoube, during a visit to the IMAT Institute. These individuals are currently undergoing a crucial incubation phase, designed to enhance their skills in several promising professions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these young trainees hail from the four regions where PADEJ-MR is active. They are in the process of completing a refresher course that will enable them to explore various career paths. During his visit, Mr. Koussoube, representing the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment, extended his congratulations to the participants for their dedication and steadfastness in the program.
Mr. Koussoube urged the young trainees to maintain a disciplined and creative approach to their studies. He also toured the workshops to observe the creations and projects developed by the incubatees. The training encompasses sectors such as agri-food, hairdressing, cutting and sewing, dyeing, agriculture, livestock farming, and fish farming. This endeavor aims to bolster the technical and entrepreneurial capabilities of the youth to facilitate their sustainable integration into the professional world.
The incubation phase at IMAT is an integral part of the participants' journey. It offers them the opportunity to solidify their skills, gain practical experience, and prepare to launch or enhance their businesses in economically viable sectors. Supported financially by the African Development Bank (AfDB), PADEJ-MR endeavors to provide tangible opportunities for rural youth through targeted training, incubation, and entrepreneurial support.
