BIR 21 Hosts Cross-Country Race to Enhance Civil-Military Relations in Titao

Ouagadougou: The Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR 21) organized a popular cross-country race on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, to strengthen their collaboration with the civilian population of Titao.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Samuel Dah's men joined forces with the civilian population for a half-hour cross-country race through the streets of Titao. This initiative marks the beginning of a series of events aimed at fostering closer ties between the military and the community. "This is a first, but we intend to organize these types of initiatives again to strengthen collaboration between the FDS and the population," stated Captain Fouonou Samuel Dah, head of BIR 21.

The event was conducted in a friendly atmosphere, allowing soldiers and civilians to interact closely during the sporting event. The race concluded with aerobics sessions, emphasizing health and fitness. One participant noted, "We need these kinds of initiatives to help us get to know each other better and also to slim down."

Captain Fouonou Samuel Dah expressed gratitude towards the participating civilians and acknowledged their cooperation during the event. The Secretary General of Loroum Province, David Ayoro, also commended BIR 21 for this initiative, highlighting its role in promoting peace and social cohesion within the community.
