Bougouriba Youth Lead Record-Breaking Blood Donation Drive

Bougouriba: As part of the 2nd phase of the 2025 edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the provincial section of the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) of Bougouriba organized a blood donation day at the Place de la Revolution in Diebougou. The activity, marked by a strong mobilization of the province's vital forces, was aimed at promoting solidarity and patriotism.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation was led by a team from the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) in Gaoua, commencing after a courtesy visit to the province's High Commissioner, Amidou Konate. He welcomed the CNAVC's initiative and encouraged the youth to continue their civic actions for the community.

The team leader of the CNTS of Gaoua praised the CNAVC for its efforts and encouraged multiplication of such activities with impactful social benefits. The atmosphere at the collection site reflected fraternity and commitment, attracting women's associations, defense and security forces, and officials from decentralized government services.

The day's target of 80 blood bags was nearly achieved, with 70 out of 83 registered volunteers successfully donating blood after medical checks. This achievement was noted as a historic record for a youth-led blood drive in the "Djoro" region, according to the CNTS report.

The CNTS team leader expressed satisfaction with the results and commended the organization, urging CNAVC Bougouriba to sustain this civic momentum. The event highlighted the youth of Diebougou's ongoing dedication to collective well-being and patriotic values.
