Boulgou: The Governor of the Nakambe region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, conducted a field visit to the construction site of the Tenkodogo University Center. At the end of this visit, he expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work, following recommendations made during a previous mission.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the project, part of the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ), involves the construction of a 500-seat amphitheater and a two-story educational building, technically equivalent to three stories because the roof is usable. The initiative is funded with 2,830 million CFA francs from the State budget for the 2024 financial year, and the project was officially handed over to the company on January 7, 2025, with a contractual period of nine months, including the rainy season.
As of August 28, 2025, the level of execution was estimated at 23.52%, with a cumulative delay of 158 days, which had previously caused dissatisfaction among the Minister, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, during a monitoring mission. Following this, the company and the inspection office reassessed the execution schedule, the supply of the site, and the organization of the work.
The project director noted that initial difficulties were linked to the late validation of the execution plans, which have since been resolved. "We have restarted the work. To date, we estimate progress at nearly 30%, and the teams are hard at work," he reported. Governor Lamizana commended the efforts of the company and control while urging the teams to intensify their efforts.
The Governor requested the company to increase manpower to ensure round-the-clock work to catch up and deliver quality work. The new projections set the completion of the works for March 2026, pending final validation of the new schedule by the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina Faso (BN-GPB).
The site manager assured that conditions have improved, stating, "We are comfortable in terms of supplies, organization, and personnel. To date, no major difficulties remain." The future Tenkodogo University Center is expected to accommodate several hundred students from the Nakambe region and neighboring areas.
For Governor Lamizana, this infrastructure is seen as "a major asset for the development of human capital and the promotion of quality education in the region." He arranged to meet the company and the inspection office on November 16, 2025, to confirm the completion of the first level paving, a crucial step before the work continues.
