Boulsa: The Provincial Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation decides on the situation of internally displaced persons

The statutory members of the Provincial Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (COPROSUR) worked during their 2nd ordinary session held on July 3, 2023 in Boulsa on the inventory of internally displaced persons and the various contributions to the peace effort.

They ruled on the legal framework of the structure, the inventory of internally displaced persons and the various contributions to the peace effort, the health action plans of the districts of the province, the contingency plans of the departments between others.

The President of Coprosur Adama Conseiga praised the members of the council in general and Abdoulaye Bamogo in charge of CONASUR's communication in particular for their selfless contributions which made it possible to achieve the expected results.

According to the Provincial Director in charge of humanitarian action, Ouédraogo, 8,335 out of 91,538 registered IDPs have returned to their respective places.

According to him, if this dynamic of returning to the fold continues on the ground, the fact remains that humanitarian actions towards other IDPs in particular and the population in general, must be carried out.

He specified that the food needs from June to the end of October are estimated at more than 2100 tons.

According to the chief medical officers of the health districts of Boulsa and Tougouri, the health action plan is estimated at more than one billion CFA francs.

The prefects, presidents of the special delegations of the communes wished the development and the implementation of their contingency plans.

The council wished to update the legal framework of Conasur to be in line with certain realities.

Speaking on this occasion, the president of the Wendkouni association, representative of the SPONGs in Namentenga, made the commitment to sell the health action plan to his peers.

The association for integrated development Guesbéogo launched a heartfelt cry to meet the needs of the mentally ill.

The council has been impregnated with the holding of vacation courses in support of internally displaced students; the campaign to vaccinate children against malaria and the agency for the promotion of community entrepreneurship (APEC).

Very satisfied with the results of the session, the High Commissioner thanked the PDICA for its financial support, the NGOs, the girls and the sons of the province for their contributions to the peace effort.
