Burkina Faso denounces a tax treaty that linked it with France

Burkina Faso denounced yesterday Monday, the tax treaty of non double taxation which bound it to France since February 15, 1967, learned the AIB from reliable sources.

The double taxation non-taxation agreement signed on August 11, 1965 between Burkina Faso and the French Republic and entered into force on February 15, 1967, including its amendment signed on June 3, 1971 and entered into force on October 1, 1974, does not obey more to the interests of Burkina Faso.

It was denounced on Monday August 7, 2023 through diplomatic channels with a period of effect within three months, the AIB learned.

Ouagadougou accuses Paris of having remained silent, to its two requests made in January 2020 and at the end of 2021, to renegotiate the terms of the agreement.
