The Minister in charge of Security, Emile Zerbo assured Thursday, of the availability of the government to support the institutions in charge of internal security (gendarmerie, police and firefighters), in the accomplishment of their missions and the reconquest of the territory.
“It is a turn of the staffs of the National Gendarmerie (EGN), the National Brigade of Firefighters (BNSP) and the General Directorate of the National Police (DGPN) to immerse myself in the functioning of these institutions. responsible for internal security", declared the Minister of Administration, Decentralization and Security, Emile Zerbo.
Mr. Zerbo also expressed his availability and that of the government to support the security institutions in their sovereign mission and to reconquer the national territory.
The Minister in charge of Security spoke Thursday in Ouagadougou, after a tour of the General Staffs of the GN, the BNSP and the DGNP.
For him, his exit from exchanges with the hierarchy and the staff is part of the functioning of the department responsible for internal security.
Emile Zerbo said he observed at each stage of his visit, men and women mobilized and committed to the fight against insecurity and organized crime in Burkina Faso.
“We are the ministry in command of these institutions and it is normal to go there to discuss with people to find out how they operate, the challenges they face and the prospects for the well-being of the people. people of Burkina Faso,” he added.
The Minister of Security says he comes to these institutions to learn how they work, in order to better manage them, because according to him, he is neither a gendarme, nor a policeman, nor a firefighter.
Mr. Zerbo for the occasion praised the acts of bravery obtained by the "pandoras", the "cops" and the "fire soldiers" on the ground and in the fight against the terrorist hydra,
He said he was proud of this fighting spirit and urged them to keep the same dynamic in the reconquest of the integrity of the national territory.
In terms of prospects, the head of security noted that his ministry will work to strengthen the gains already made to drive terrorists out of the country.
As a reminder, Emile Zerbo, a magistrate by profession, was appointed on June 25 by presidential decree as Minister of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security, replacing his predecessor Colonel Boukaré Zoungrana.
