Burkina-Presse-Revue Burkina: Cooperation, health and social dialogue, on the menu of Burkinabe daily newspapers

Burkinabè dailies this Tuesday echo the dialogue of the Head of State with traders, the increase in cases of crazy malaria and a meeting between emissaries of the Malian president Assimi Goïta with captain Ibrahim Traoré.

The national daily Sidwaya headlines: “Conduction of the transition: Emissaries of Assimi Goita in Ouagadougou”.

The newspaper informs that the President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré received in audience, on Monday September 11, 2023 at the presidency, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization of Mali, Lieutenant -Colonel Abdoulaye Maïga.

According to him, Minister Abdoulaye Maïga is carrying a message from the President of the Republic of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta to his Burkinabè counterpart, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

In this regard, the private daily Le Pays indicates that the head of the Malian delegation maintained at the end of the interview with the president of the transition that Mali and Burkina Faso have common challenges in terms of security and the socio-political plan which requires permanent consultation.

In the opinion of the newspaper, the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, during the audience, provided wise advice to the delegation to stay the course and meet challenges.

From another angle, the dean of Burkinabè private dailies, L'Observateur Paalga headlines its front page: “Outbreak of Crazy cases: In search of a magic potion”.

The newspaper specifies that, according to a report from the epidemiological surveillance service of the population health protection department, for several weeks, the number of crazy cases has continued to increase.

The dean of private daily newspapers added that the Minister of Health Mr. Kargougou alerted that more than 8,000 suspected cases including around 3,000 probable cases with unfortunately 31 deaths have been recorded.

On the same subject, Sidwaya informs that according to the head doctor of the district, Dr Abdoul-Aziz Ouédraogo, the symptoms of madness are, among others, fever, headaches, pain in the eyes, vomiting, bleeding.

For the national daily, Dr Ouédraogo appeals to those who practice self-medication to avoid it in these crazy times which can lead to disastrous consequences.

Under another aspect, the private newspaper L'Observateur Paalga indicates that according to the communications department of the Presidency of Faso, the president of the transition, head of state Captain Ibrahim Traoré, spoke yesterday Monday, with representatives of market traders and yaars in Burkina Faso.

The newspaper reports that the National Union of Traders' Associations, through its secretary general, Issaka Rouamba, requested support from the President of the Transition for the establishment of a microfinance company with the profile of their member of the markets with an acceptable reimbursement rate, professional training and modernization of market infrastructure.

The newspaper adds that the head of state assured them that the transitional government was already on projects to improve the conditions of traders through the ministry in charge of infrastructure.

On this subject, Sidwaya adds that the Head of State invited traders to subscribe to popular shareholding, through the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship.
