Ouagadougou: The Sank Money electronic platform donated school kits on Thursday in Ouagadougou to the children of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell during the operations to recapture the national territory. The donation was received by the commander of the Volunteer Brigade for the Defense of the Homeland (B-VDP), Mahamady Sawadogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Sank Money CEO Sada Zougmore stated that the gesture is "a gift to the homeland" that cannot be overestimated. "We are in a situation of insecurity, and people have given their lives to save us, to allow us to continue to exist. So today we have decided to come to the aid of the children of these brave people," he said.
Mr. Zougmore emphasized that Sank Money, a 100% Burkinabe company operating in the digital sector, is "the VDP of financial freedom." According to him, the company intends to continue its social and patriotic commitment by supporting those who defend the nation. "We appeal to all Burkinabe to look out for these families. Those who gave their lives so that we are still standing deserve that we be the insurance of their descendants," he insisted.
The head of Sank Money added that this initiative, beyond its symbolic significance, is part of a long-term collaboration with the B-VDP. In addition to social support, Sank Money already supports the brigade in the digital management and electronic payment of VDP premiums, he recalled.
For his part, B-VDP Commander Mahamady Sawadogo praised Sank Money's gesture, describing it as a patriotic company committed to the good of Burkina Faso. "For some time now, Sank Money has been supporting us through the electronic payment of B-VDP premiums, which has helped resolve many challenges. Today, it goes further by thinking of the orphans of VDPs who fell on the battlefield," he explained.
Commander Mahamady Sawadogo expressed his gratitude, believing that this donation will bring relief to the bereaved families. "We dare to believe that other companies will follow this example to further support the children of the VDP and contribute to the cost of their schooling," he hoped.
Beneficiary representative Aminata Ouedraogo welcomed Sank Money's gesture, which she said took a thorn out of their side. On behalf of the beneficiaries, she thanked the donor for his kindness.
