Calcio FC Triumphs in Back-to-School Super Cup Clash Against TSR

Houet: Calcio FC won the Back-to-School Super Cup on Sunday at the Tougait primary school, beating the TSR team 1-0.

According to Burkina Information Agency, dressed in orange, the Calcio FC team, winner of the tournament in support of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), faced TSR, champion of the Kangala Vacances Foot tournament, dressed in blue. The match was held under the theme "Promoting the vision of Comrade President Captain Ibrahim Traore in matters of sport," and was attended by the Regional Director of Sports and Leisure of Guiriko, Seydou Kabore, as well as several local authorities and a large audience.

After a balanced first half, Calcio FC opened the scoring in the second. Despite TSR's attempts, the score remained unchanged until the final whistle, 1 goal to 0 for Calcio FC, who thus lifted the Super Cup trophy. The winning team, Calcio FC, receives 100,000 CFA francs, a ball, medals, and the trophy. The runner-up, TSR, receives 50,000 CFA francs, medals, and a ball, while the third- and fourth-place teams receive 25,000 CFA francs and 15,000 CFA francs, respectively.

For the promoter, Lassane 'Donking' Ouedraogo, the initiative aims to provide a framework for the development of young people, recalling that, according to the President of Faso, 'sport is essential for healthy youth and a strong nation.'
