Dedougou CHR Mobile Clinic Advances Women’s Cancer Screening in Tcheriba

Mouhoun: As part of the national "Pink October" campaign dedicated to the fight against women's cancers, the mobile clinic of the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Dedougou carried out a screening and awareness mission in Tcheriba for the benefit of the women of the commune.

According to Burkina Information Agency, since its launch in Bankui, the mobile clinic is making its second trip to Tcheriba. The initiative aims to bring health services closer to rural populations, particularly women living in remote areas, in order to provide them with preventive care against breast and cervical cancer.

Warmly welcomed by the local authorities, the mission, led by the gynecologist and head of the maternity department of the CHR of Dedougou, Dr. Salfo Zongo, received the encouragement of the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Tcheriba, Ouesseni Logora. He praised the relevance of the action and expressed his appreciation for the technological level of the equipment of the mobile clinic, which is a result of the presidential initiative for health.

The PDS also congratulated the medical team for its commitment and closeness to the women of the commune. Dr. Salfo Zongo urged women to undergo regular screening and perform breast self-examination, emphasizing that these simple actions can save lives by promoting early detection. The gynecologist encouraged the participants to adopt preventive behaviors to reduce the risks associated with female cancers.

After Tcheriba, the mobile clinic will continue its tour in the most remote localities of the region, with the aim of bringing health care closer to vulnerable populations and strengthening the fight against women's cancers in Boucle du Mouhoun.
