Dera et Frere Company Contributes 230 Tons of Sand to Faso Mebo Initiative

Bobo-dioulasso: Dera et Frere (EDF), led by El Hadji Dera Seydou, also known as Sanpawede, has demonstrated support for the Faso Mebo initiative by donating 230 tons of sand in Bobo-Dioulasso. The company also provided a significant workforce to assist with the initiative on October 4, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this contribution aligns with the national effort led by President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, who encourages citizens to help build a cleaner, more modern, and united Burkina Faso through the Faso Mebo initiative.

El Hadji Dera Seydou, head of EDF, stated, "This donation is a response to the call of the President of Burkina Faso, an initiative that invites every Burkinabe to contribute their part so that, hand in hand, we can build our country. The workforce we offer on the site does not stop there."

He emphasized that the commitment of Dera and Brother is longstanding: "Sometimes we build roads that are more than two kilometers long, well-maintained, and sometimes we spend more than four million francs on road maintenance. We have always done this discreetly, without posting it on social media."

The approach aims to serve as an example and inspire other Burkinabe to take tangible actions for the homeland. "We just want to make it clear that everyone can contribute, at their own level, to the construction of Burkina Faso," Seydou added.

Through this gesture, EDF reaffirms its dedication to community development and the shared vision of a Burkina Faso built by its own citizens.
