Ganzourgou Consultation Framework Evaluates Development Initiatives

Ganzourgou: The High Commissioner of Ganzourgou Province, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, chaired the second ordinary session of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) in Zorgho on Monday, October 13, 2025. The session facilitated discussions on development efforts within the province through various presentations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session commenced with remarks from Mr. Valentin Badolo, president of the Zorgho special municipal delegation. He acknowledged the consistency of the CCP and extended gratitude to partners whose support sustains this platform for dialogue.

High Commissioner Sorgho/Gouba thanked the participants and financial partners, notably the mining company Orezone Bombore SA and the Belgian development agency Enabel, for their contributions to the session. She emphasized that consultation frameworks are designed to enhance the coordination of development actions, promote dialogue, and share experiences among stakeholders.

The session featured four key presentations. Analira Alira, Director of Environment and Community Relations at Orezone Bombore SA, presented the Livelihood Restoration Program (PRMS). This initiative, benefiting communities impacted by the gold project in Mogtedo, supports agriculture, livestock, and non-agricultural income-generating activities. Mr. Alira highlighted that over 833 million CFA francs have been invested since 2020, although challenges such as project ownership and opportunity capitalization persist.

The second presentation by Mr. Ali Bonkoungou covered the Faso Kuna Wili Fund (FKW), providing insights into its operations, focus areas, and support conditions. Since its inception in October 2024, the FKW has granted loans totaling 108,400,000 CFA francs to 39 beneficiaries in the province.

Mr. Harouna Karambiri, the province's Secretary General, delivered the third presentation on administrative drafting, aiming to enhance the quality of administrative documents produced by department heads.

The fourth presentation by Mr. Sana Koira from Enabel outlined the agency's interventions in Ganzourgou. Enabel has invested over 620 million CFA francs in six municipalities, focusing on agriculture, education, hygiene and sanitation, health, conflict, governance, and climate. The initiatives include lowland development, school field extension, socio-economic resilience, gender equality, and women's empowerment.

Mr. Mouni Etienne Kabore of the Association Generation Montante pour le Developpement du Ganzourgou also shared the association's activities, such as establishing a poultry training center in Torodo and the potential revival of the Warba festival. He sought administrative support for these projects.

Concluding the session, the High Commissioner commended the presentations and discussions, urging participants to transform their ideas into tangible actions to enhance the population's living conditions.
