Gnagna: Police hand over half a million for IDPs

Policemen and women from the province of Gnagna, on Friday July 21, 2023, handed over to the Provincial Emergency Relief Council (COPROSUR) of Gnagna in Bogandé the sum of 500,000 CFA francs for the benefit of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

People of goodwill are emerging day by day to support internally displaced persons in the province of Gnagna.

Indeed, on Friday July 21, 2023, the COPROSUR of Gnagna received from national police personnel from the said province, the sum of 500,000 FCFA for the benefit of internally displaced persons.

The funds were handed over to the Bogandé High Commission in the presence of members of the Gnagna Provincial Emergency Relief Council. It was the provincial director of the national police of Gnagna, police commissioner Issa Congo, representing the donors who handed over the donation.

For donors, the security and humanitarian situation in Burkina recommends active solidarity from all its daughters and sons.

“Beyond their commitment and sacrifice at the front, these police daughters and sons of the Gnagna also felt challenged by the call for solidarity from the transitional government,” suggested police commissioner Issa Congo, representing the donors.

“The gesture of my colleagues is intended to challenge and aims to invite people of good will to have a thought for these internally displaced people who are in need,” he added.

Since the beginning of July 2023, the number of internally displaced people in the province of Gnagna has increased significantly.

Receiving the donation, the second vice-president of the special communal delegation of Bogandé, Oumarou Tindano thanked the donors for their show of solidarity.

In view of the situation, he took the opportunity to appeal to all the daughters and sons of Gnagna as well as the partners to follow suit.
