Gnon Kanou Association Restores Town Hall Wall in Mouhoun to Foster Social Cohesion

Mouhoun: True to its commitment to solidarity and living together, the "Gnon Kanou" Association of Safane, chaired by Sere Yacouba, carried out the rehabilitation of part of the town hall wall that had collapsed. This initiative, executed from October 15 to 18, 2025, was conducted alongside the 8th edition of the social cohesion tournament, showcasing the local youth's dedication to community development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the 'Gnon Kanou' association, established to promote culture, sport, and fraternity, has grown to become a significant force in the social vitality of the commune. Through its annual football tournament, which serves as a platform for intergenerational interactions and dialogue, the association plays a crucial role in strengthening community bonds and encouraging civic participation.

This year, the association's members decided to intertwine civic engagement with sporting activities, leaving a tangible mark on the community through the restoration project. The rehabilitated wall stands as a symbol of local authority and shared heritage, reflecting the members' sense of duty and patriotism.

Sere Yacouba, the association's president, commended the spirit of solidarity that inspired the members and partners throughout the project. He emphasized that the initiative is a testament to their commitment to enhancing the communal environment and reinforcing social cohesion in Safane.
