The Olonne sur Mer – Gourcy Solidarity Twinning Committee offered food and infant flour on Saturday July 22, 2023 in Gourcy for the benefit of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The Olonne sur Mer-Gourcy Twinning Committee made its heart speak, by offering 10 tons of corn, 1 ton of infant flour, mats and blankets to the Internally Displaced Persons of the commune of Gourcy.
The official presentation of the donation took place this Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the headquarters of the committee under the chairmanship of the President of the Special Delegation of Gourcy, Bosso Toé Kaba Téré.
For the President of the Twinning Committee, Soumaïla Ouédraogo, this gesture was possible thanks to the support of the Olonnais partners who, he will say, for the third time, had a thought for the displaced populations who live in difficult conditions.
In his address, he thanked the donors for their renewed generosity and called on the recipients to show resilience in the face of the adversity imposed on them.
“It is in difficulty that we recognize our true friends,” he added as if to magnify the quality of the partnership with the common friend.
On receiving the donation, the President of the Special Delegation translated on behalf of the beneficiaries, his gratitude to the benefactors, while ensuring that the donation will go to the real recipients thanks to the good care of the services in charge of humanitarian action.
As a reminder, according to official data, the province of Zondoma has so far recorded more than 19,000 internally displaced persons who need assistance
