Koubri: The rural commune of Koubri came alive this Thursday, October 2, 2025, celebrating the second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation. At the behest of Samade Leonard Gougou, President of the Special Delegation (PDS), the community gathered in the courtyard of the Prefecture to affirm their dedication to the principles of citizenship and patriotism.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event featured a flag-raising ceremony led by the Departmental Water and Forestry Service, accompanied by the singing of the "Victory Hymn." The PDS emphasized the significance of honoring national symbols and encouraged the population to demonstrate respect during these ceremonies.
Mr. Gougou conveyed a message from Captain Ibrahim Traore, the Head of State, which focused on combating corruption, enhancing discipline, and fostering societal order. The PDS underscored that this message serves as a direct appeal for every citizen to exemplify these values and contribute to strengthening community life.
The event also provided a platform to discuss ongoing municipal projects. Special attention was given to immersion camps and the FASO-MEBO presidential initiative. The PDS urged Koubri residents to engage deeply with these initiatives to collectively tackle local development challenges.
Additionally, the topic of hygiene and sanitation was raised. Mr. Gougou called on the population to ensure the cleanliness of Naaba-Zana, an emerging city, as a means to foster a healthy environment conducive to progress.
