Kourittenga: Local Associations Equipped to Monitor Public Services

Kourittenga: The Center for Information, Training and Budget Studies (CIFOEB) provided tools, from Thursday, October 16 to Friday, October 17, 2025, to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and local associations in Koupela, on the monitoring of local public services using the community dashboard.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the objective of the training is to provide CSOs with practical skills enabling them to collect, analyze and share reliable data on the quality of local public services while promoting constructive dialogue between public services and citizens.

To enable local CSOs to act effectively and objectively, tools such as the Rapid Diagnostic Sheet, the Community Dashboard (CDI) and the Citizen Bulletin were administered to them during the forty-eight hours of training.

The general secretary of the commune of Koupela, Adama Belem, remarked that an objective use of these monitoring tools will contribute to a better rendering of public service for the benefit of the population. "I invite the beneficiaries of this training to use these tools in order to better inform and challenge public services because this will contribute to ensuring that the way in which public services are delivered is adjusted to the well-being of their local area," he suggested.

According to Chantal Nianda of the Youth, Population and Development Association (AJPOD), this framework has allowed her, as a CSO, to improve her understanding of the principles, purposes and benefits of these tools while expressing her desire to share the knowledge acquired with other members of her associative structure.

The trainer, Doctor Aida Dao, emphasized the importance of the implementation of these tools by the beneficiaries of the training, while specifying that it is to strengthen the practical skills of these actors in the development, administration and interpretation of the community dashboard and the rapid diagnostic sheet.
