Bogande: La Gnagna begins its sporting return under the sign of resilience and cohesion. The provincial directorate in charge of Sport and Leisure of Gnagna launched, on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Bogande, the 2025-2026 sports and leisure season, under the chairmanship of the high commissioner of the province, Jean Baptiste Beogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, High Commissioner Jean Baptiste Beogo kicked off the activity after actively participating in a popular cross-country race of approximately four kilometers, followed by an aerobics session. On this occasion, he praised the participants' mobilization and recalled that sport remains an essential pillar of well-being and social dynamism.
"Sport for all is an effective weapon against non-communicable diseases and a sedentary lifestyle," he said, inviting the population to take part in the weekly aerobics sessions organized every Thursday evening on the multi-sports ground in sector 2 of Bogande.
Mr. Beogo also paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), the Koglweogo as well as the civilian population for their commitment and resilience in the face of the difficult security context.
For his part, the provincial director of Sports and Leisure of Gnagna, Albert Dakissaga, stressed the need for all social classes to practice physical and recreational activities, which according to him, contribute to the intellectual, physical and psychological development of the human being.
The 2025-2026 sports and recreational season ended in a friendly atmosphere, marked by a strong participation of FDS, public and private sector workers, students and residents of Bogande, all united around the values of solidarity, resilience and health through sport.
