Nayala Police Launch Night Operation to Enhance Security in Toma

Nayala: In a bid to bolster the security of the residents and their properties during nighttime, the Provincial Director of the National Police (DPPN) of Nayala, Police Inspector Abdoul Rasmane Ganam, initiated a special operation known as "night policing" on Tuesday night, October 14, 2025. This operation coincides with the celebration of the days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation in Toma.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation was coordinated by Lieutenant Dabire Abdoul Kassoum and involved twelve police officers alongside five Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). The mission extended until five o'clock in the morning, focusing on reinforcing security in low-light and high-risk zones to deter burglaries and nighttime assaults. DPPN Ganam emphasized the need for professionalism, caution, and courtesy among the teams. He stressed that the use of weapons is strictly for self-defense, and any behavior damaging to the police's reputation is unacceptable.

The Toma Central Police Commissioner highlighted the mission's goals, which include crime prevention, reducing road incivility, and building trust between the security forces and the public. Activities during the operation included identity checks, document verifications, and monitoring of crime-prone areas. The operation resulted in the seizure of twelve motorcycles and the arrest of two individuals lacking identity papers, who were subsequently taken to the central police station.

Residents like Mr. Ouattara Sidiki, a teacher, expressed their approval of the initiative, stating that it helps differentiate between delinquents and honest citizens. The "night policing" operation aims to create a peaceful environment in Toma, allowing residents to rest without concern.
