Ouagadougou Hosts International African Youth Forum Focused on Economic Sovereignty

Ouagadougou: The Association for the Promotion of African Integration (APIA) announced on Tuesday the organization of the 3rd edition of the Ouagadougou International African Youth Forum (FIJAO 2025), scheduled for October 24 at the Ouaga 2022 conference room, around the theme: 'African youth and economic sovereignty: innovating, undertaking and building the Africa of tomorrow.'

According to Burkina Information Agency, APIA Secretary General Mohamed Deme stated that this forum constitutes a platform for meeting, exchange and action bringing together young leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, public decision-makers, economic actors and development partners from Burkina Faso and several African countries.

For Mr. Deme, FIJAO 2025 aims to encourage youth innovation and entrepreneurship, foster job creation and economic inclusion, while promoting local and sustainable solutions in the service of African sovereignty. "FIJAO is more than an event, it is a youth movement serving the Africa of tomorrow," he declared, emphasizing that "African youth hold the keys to the transformation of the continent through the audacity to innovate, the will to undertake and civic engagement."

The program for this third edition includes expert panels, practical workshops, business meetings, and experience sharing. These activities aim to stimulate creativity, strengthen partnerships, and drive concrete initiatives for sustainable and inclusive development.

APIA expects representatives from at least 28 African countries to participate in this major youth event. Founded in 2018, the Association for the Promotion of African Integration is established in five countries (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and France). It works to foster a united, responsible, civic-minded African youth that is an active player in sustainable development.
