Oubri Personalities Recognized for Contributions to VDP School Project

Oubri: Five personalities from the Oubri region were honored on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Ziniare, as part of the VDP school project. The initiative, led by the Association for Education, Civics, Altruism and Patriotism in the Sahel, aims to strengthen the culture of civics and patriotism among Burkinabe students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by the regional representative to the Presidency of Burkina Faso and the Director General of the National Blood Transfusion Center. Their participation demonstrated the authorities' interest in this citizen initiative, which contributes to the moral and civic education of young people.

The award was given to five individuals recognized as inspiring models for their commitment to a disciplined, peaceful school focused on civic values. Among the winners was the president of the Regional Council of Civil Society Organizations of Oubri, Abdoul Ouahab Dialla. Mr. Dialla expressed that receiving this distinction as a role model for young people is an honor and a responsibility, emphasizing the impact of community actions.

Jacques Ilboudo, president of ACAP/Sahel, stated that this activity is part of a national effort to involve all education stakeholders in building a quality school based on moral and civic values. He emphasized the vision of instilling patriotism and civic-mindedness in Burkinabe students to foster positive change and sustainable development.

The VDP school project not only recognizes these personalities' merits but also encourages young people to adopt responsible behavior and contribute to peace and social cohesion in their schools. This initiative reflects the dedication of educational and associative actors to prioritize civic and patriotic values in the Burkinabe education system.
