Djoro: The Djoro Regional Culture Week (SRC) reached its climax this Saturday in the Gaoua multipurpose hall. After three days of competitions, out of the 533 registered, nine troupes and artistic ensembles, three candidates in culinary arts and twenty-seven candidates in traditional sports were selected to represent the Djoro region at the Bobo 2026 National Culture Week (SNC).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of Poni, Bepampo Ouoba, representing the Governor of Djoro, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the SRC 2025 competitions. He thanked the candidates and festival-goers for their participation and congratulated the winners who will represent the region at the SNC 2026 in Bobo Dioulasso. He also encouraged those who were not selected to persevere and better prepare for future editions.
He urged the winners to begin their preparations in order to raise the flag for Djoro, a showcase of culture and diversity, and to bring home trophies at the next national edition. The governor's representative also invited all the sons and daughters of Djoro, as well as the different religious denominations, to morally and spiritually support the ambassadors of the region.
For the Regional Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Carole Mariam Raissa Eve Yamwemba, the candidates displayed a good level overall, but only the best were selected to represent the region at the SNC Bobo 2026. She said that the organizers, in collaboration with the provincial directorates and the supervisors of the different disciplines, will develop a preparation program to strengthen the performances of the nominees and maximize the chances of bringing home several trophies.
