Sourou’s Special Delegation Contributes Food Supplies to Local Defense Volunteers

Sourou: A special delegation from the commune of Tougan has donated food supplies worth five million CFA francs to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). The donation, made on Saturday, October 11, 2025, included 165 bags of local rice, 10 cans of oil, and 57 boxes of pasta.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation, Ouigou Tiendrebeogo, emphasized the symbolic nature of the donation. He stated that the resources were mobilized through local taxes and duties, reflecting the community's collective effort. "We were able to mobilize these resources with the support of everyone, because it is thanks to taxes and duties at the local level that we acquired these foodstuffs," said Mr. Tiendrebeogo.

Djibril Drabo, representing the VDP of the commune, expressed the critical importance of the contribution. He noted that such support motivates the volunteers to enhance their efforts in their mission. "We are very pleased to receive this donation this morning. We always need this kind of support, which motivates us to redouble our efforts to do perfect work on the ground," he said.

The president of the special delegation also called on others to support the volunteers to boost the effectiveness of their mission to reclaim the national territory.
