Gayeri: The Komondjari Provincial Directorate of Sports and Leisure organized a sports and leisure competition on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Gayeri, aimed at strengthening social cohesion and living together among the populations of the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Provincial Director Mathias Kabore stated that this activity is part of the missions assigned to his department by the Ministry of Sports and Leisure. It aims to provide a framework for relaxation, entertainment, and fraternity for the resilient population of Komondjari. Kabore emphasized that the event was not just about sports, but also a moment of communion and rapprochement between the different social components of the province.
The event was graced by the presence of the High Commissioner of the province, Valentin Gnanou, who praised the initiative of the provincial Directorate. He extended his congratulations to the organizing committee, the Defense and Security Forces, and all the goodwill that contributed to the event's success.
The highlights of the day were two football matches, where the FC Catholique de Gayeri team defeated the Boualihamou team from the same town. The matches occurred in a friendly atmosphere marked by popular fervor.
This sporting and recreational day helped to further consolidate social cohesion and promote living together in Komondjari.
