According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by the High Commissioner of the Kourweogo province, Mahamadi Congo, and gathered all the vital forces of the commune to demonstrate their support for the volunteers for the defense of the homeland and defense and security forces in general.
The donation included ten motorcycles valued at a total of 5,904,800 CFA francs, along with a financial sum of 500,000 CFA francs designated for fuel and maintenance costs. Additional contributions included a box of engine oil and 5 tonnes of cereals, all of which were handed over to the provincial coordinator of the volunteer brigades for the defense of the homeland, Police Commissioner Jean Rodrigue Compaore.
The president of the special delegation of Toeghin, Aicha Traore Deme, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the patriotic dynamic initiated at the national level. She expressed gratitude to all donors, including Toeghin nationals living both locally and abroad, and various social classes who contributed to this action. Ms. Traore particularly highlighted the efforts of the Tind Yalgre Association (ATY), which played a significant role in collecting food from cooperative societies and individuals of goodwill.
The provincial coordinator of the VDP acknowledged the contribution as a strengthening gesture that enhances the operational capacity of the volunteers and improves their working conditions. He urged beneficiaries to use the equipment responsibly, echoing the sentiments of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, who emphasized that poorly maintained public property undermines the revolution.
High Commissioner Mahamadi Congo encouraged the Toeghin community to maintain unity and solidarity to overcome differences and focus on the socio-economic development of the commune, reflecting the collective effort demonstrated at the event. The commune has already shown its commitment by contributing over two million CFA francs to the Patriotic Support Fund, with the latest contribution of 150,000 CFA francs coming from the village of Doure.
