The Ti Malg Taaba association, whose activities were launched on Saturday, aims to safeguard culture, in particular the Koussaré culture, and to promote development, said its president Zobra Yaba.
The general objective of the Ti Malg Taaba (TMT) association is to act for the preservation of culture and development, announced its president, Zobra Yaba, on Saturday in front of journalists.
According to Mr. Zobra, the name of the association “Ti Malg Taaba” is in Koussaré or Kusal language and means “let us develop”.
"Our areas of intervention are the promotion of culture and particularly the cultural promotion of the Kossaga society, education, specifically the education of girls, the protection of the environment and natural resources, the vocational training of young people, promotion of human rights,” Mr. Yaba said.
According to him, the TMT association is national in scope and its headquarters are in Ouagadougou.
Mr. Zobra indicated that the Ti Malg Taaba association also advocates development centered on endogenous values, the cultural values of peoples.
“Therefore, the association makes cultural diversity its vision,” he added. According to him, Ti Malg Taab also defends the values of solidarity and social equity, hence his motto "Together we will go further!".
“The Ti Malg Taab association is an apolitical non-profit organization. Membership of the association is free and voluntary. It is without distinction of race, ethnicity or religion,” he reassured.
The representative of the Minister in charge of Culture, Athanase Traoré, indicated that this association is welcome, not only for the development of culture but also for the Koussacé community.
According to him, the Ministry of Culture will provide support for the promotion of this language (Koussacé) because the department has chosen to relaunch the languages (national editor's note) which are in decline.
The association has planned a series of activities for the rest of the year, including the organization of cultural days (JCK) to promote the Koussacé culture in December.
The Koussacé community is a minority ethnic group located in the south of Burkina Faso in the province of Boulgou.
“We wanted to hold this activity launch ceremony because we have an action plan for the last 05 months of 2023. We are going to raise funds for the benefit of internally displaced persons, more specifically for the benefit of internally displaced students in the two municipalities, namely the municipality of Zabré and that of Zoaga,” said the president of the TMT association Zobra Yaba.
During the ceremony, members of the association were able to raise the sum of 83,200 FCFA through fundraising on site.
