Bittou: The Koulp©logo province marked the 7th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA) on July 31, 2025, by planting 657 plants in the rural commune of Yargatenga. The event was presided over by Jean Sare, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Yargatenga.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative focused on planting medicinal plants over an area of 2 hectares. This effort aligns with the presidential initiative to achieve pharmaceutical sovereignty and combat desertification through the establishment of medicinal groves in the provinces.
Jean Bosco Zongo, Commander of Water and Forests, addressed the community, highlighting the President of Faso's goal of achieving food self-sufficiency through plants that provide Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs). He emphasized the importance of proper plant monitoring and expressed gratitude to the company Wellende et fils for securing the site.
