Cape town: The Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has unveiled the finalists for its 2026 AWIEF Awards. The annual event, established in 2017, aims to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of women entrepreneurs and business owners across Africa in promoting inclusive economic growth and social development on the continent.According to African Press Organization, this year's finalists emerged from a competitive nominations process, showcasing talent and impact across various African markets. The 2026 Awards categories have been updated to reflect the evolving landscape of entrepreneurship and innovation in Africa. The categories acknowledge emerging leaders, technology pioneers, agricultural innovators, creative visionaries, and women making noticeable impacts.This year introduces the Male Ally Award, which highlights the contributions of male leaders and decision-makers who have advanced women's economic empowerment and systemic change for women in Africa. The finalists for the 2026 AWIEF Awards are recognized in several categories, such as the Woman to Watch Award, Impact for Good Award, Creative Visionary Award, and Tech Pioneer Award. The Male Ally Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award recipients will be announced at the AWIEF Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner.The winners of the 2026 AWIEF Awards will be disclosed at a prestigious awards ceremony and gala dinner on 11 November 2026. This event will conclude the AWIEF 2026 Conference, which is scheduled from 10 to 11 November 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), South Africa. The conference will unite women entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, policymakers, development partners, and other stakeholders from Africa and beyond.The Awards Gala will serve as an occasion to honor this year's finalists and winners, while also acknowledging the efforts of women and allies in shaping a more inclusive and prosperous economic future for Africa.
