Cape town: The nominees for the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 recognize the companies, projects, and individuals driving innovation, investment, and growth across Africa's energy sector. Featuring 12 categories spanning the full energy value chain, the awards celebrate the achievements shaping the continent's energy future.
According to African Press Organization, winners will be announced during the AEW 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, taking place on Tuesday, October 13, in Cape Town. The ceremony will bring together ministers, industry leaders, investors, and technology providers to recognize excellence in upstream, downstream, gas, power, local content, technology, and corporate leadership.
In the category of African Service Provider of the Year, GeoEnergy Group has been nominated for advancing digital transformation through the Egypt Upstream Gateway while strengthening local technical expertise across the continent. Other nominees include One Titanium, KAESO, SONILS, and NIPEX, each recognized for their contributions to supporting Africa's energy industry and enhancing local supplier participation.
The International Service Provider of the Year category features nominees like NOV, Geoex MCG, Africa Global Logistics, Technip Energies, SBM Offshore, and SLB, all of whom have played significant roles in supporting energy developments with advanced engineering, equipment solutions, and logistics.
Local Content Champion (African Companies) nominees include Seplat Energy, Copia Group of Companies, Renaissance Africa Energy, and Cabship, all recognized for their efforts in strengthening indigenous participation in Africa's energy value chain. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies Uganda, NOV, Woodside Energy, and Africa Global Logistics are competing under Local Content Champion (International Companies).
The EandP Leader of the Year category includes Shell for its discoveries in Namibia and Egypt, Renaissance Africa Energy and NNPCL for their discovery in Nigeria, and Murphy Oil, Eni, OMV, and Libya's National Oil Corporation for their respective contributions to exploration and production across the continent.
Highlighting the significant deals in the energy sector, Trafigura, Levene Energies, Heirs Energies, and UTM FLNG have been nominated for the Deal of the Year category, each demonstrating impactful transactions within the industry.
For CSR Project of the Year, nominees include Mozambique LNG, South African National Petroleum Company, Kosmos Energy Ghana, Sonangol, Eni, and Oando Foundation, recognized for their initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, and community support.
The Gas Monetization Award nominees, such as Levene Energies, NOV APL Norway, Congo LNG, and Amufert, are recognized for their efforts in advancing gas commercialization and infrastructure development.
In the Technology Innovator category, TotalEnergies, SOLA Group, Shearwater, and TGS and Starlink have been nominated for their technological advancements in optimizing energy solutions.
Finally, the Power Africa Developer category includes TotalEnergies, Siemens Energy, Globeleq, and Infinity Power, each recognized for their efforts in expanding renewable energy and supporting Africa's growing power demand.
