AIB Launches Comprehensive Journalism Training for Correspondents in Ouagadougou

Ouagadougou: The general management of the Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB) has initiated a five-day training session focused on major journalism genres, commencing on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was led by AIB Director General, Ms. S©raphine Som© n©e Millogo, alongside the Secretary General, the Director of Human Resources, and the Director of Information. The event gathered AIB correspondents from various regions across the country. During her address, Ms. Millogo emphasized the significance of this capacity-building initiative, particularly in light of the current security challenges and the rigorous demands of the journalism profession. She highlighted the necessity for producing quality information that meets both national and international standards.

The training session, which runs from August 18 to August 22, delves into major genres such as reporting, in-depth reporting, reportage, portraiture, as well as ethics and professional conduct. Ms. Millogo pointed out that the primary goal is to equip correspondents with enhanced tools to improve their field productions. The program includes theoretical modules and practical exercises, supplemented by field trips where participants will produce articles that will be reviewed for knowledge reinforcement.

After the opening remarks, a roundtable discussion and participant presentations officially kicked off the proceedings. The first training module was conducted by the Director of Information, Apollinaire Abga. This initiative is part of AIB's broader goal to enhance the skills of its correspondent network and ensure professional coverage that aligns with the country's realities.
