Ouagadougou: The Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB) is conducting a training session from July 7 to 11, 2025, in Ouagadougou for around thirty journalists and technicians. The focus is on equipping them with skills in visual and podcast design to meet the expectations of subscribers with engaging multimedia content.
According to Burkina Information Agency, AIB Director General S©raphine Som©/Millogo highlighted the rapidly evolving field of communications, especially within the digital sector. She emphasized the necessity for the agency to adapt to these changes to offer more appealing content to readers and listeners. "Hence the organization of this training session, in the production of visuals and podcasts in order to better meet the expectations of all those who follow the news on our platforms," said Ms. Som©.
The use of visuals and podcasts, according to Ms. Som©, represents new tools to reach a broader audience, particularly young people. "Through this training, the AIB aims to be a more dynamic player, closer to its readers, listeners, and customers, through the quality of its content and its mastery of digital tools," she emphasized. Given the significance of the themes, she urged participants to be diligent to master the various aspects covered during the training.
She expressed a desire for improved content across AIB platforms post-training, aiming to expand the audience and garner positive feedback from internet users. AIB Banwa correspondent Salifou Ou©draogo noted the training's benefits, especially with the rise of social networks, which make visuals and podcasts more effective for informing subscribers. He pointed out that people prefer videos and photos over reading, allowing better information dissemination.
Ou©draogo expressed hope for correspondents to produce captivating professional photos and videos by the end of the training. Similarly, AIB correspondent from Kossi, Adama Ciss©, shared his enthusiasm about the training's potential to enhance image processing skills, which have been handled informally so far. Ciss© also expressed the desire for the General Directorate to equip correspondents with necessary tools like laptops, cameras, and video cameras to improve field performance after the training.
