Almeria FC Triumphs in Zabr© Football Tournament Final

Zabr©: The Almeria FC team from sector 5 of Zabr© emerged victorious in the final match of the 6th edition of the "Football Holidays" tournament organized by the living forces of Zabr©. The match, held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, saw Almeria FC, donning orange jerseys, defeat the Songo team, dressed in black jerseys, with a final score of 2-0. The event attracted a large audience, including administrative and customary authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament, which commenced on June 29, 2025, featured 20 participating teams and a total of 34 matches played in a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. The event was themed "Through football, I commit myself to order and discipline for an emerging Burkina Faso," echoing the vision of the country's Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.

The final match consisted of two 25-minute halves, during which Almeria FC secured their win with goals from Christian Zinsonni and Harouna Gouba. Gouba's performance throughout the tournament earned him the title of top scorer, with a total of 9 goals.

As the tournament champions, Almeria FC was awarded 75,000 FCFA, gold medals, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The runner-up, Songo, received 50,000 FCFA, silver medals, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The ceremony was sponsored by Dr. Modeste Yerbanga, former Minister of Animal Resources, represented by Achille Bouda, a protocol officer at the European Union. Bouda praised the initiative and encouraged the youth to foster unity and solidarity through sports.

Luc Sango, the tournament promoter, expressed his satisfaction with the success of this edition, highlighting the commitment of the young participants to the tournament's theme. He noted the absence of incidents and the emphasis on order, discipline, and fair play.

The closing ceremony included speeches from various dignitaries, including the representative of the Zabr© canton chief, the first vice-president of the Zabr© special delegation, the promoter, and the sponsor's representative. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to individuals who have supported the competition since its inception.

The "Football Holidays" tournament, first launched in 2020, has become a crucial event for the sporting youth of Zabr©, promoting sportsmanship and community engagement.
