Tenkodogo: The ‚¬°talon multipurpose hall in Tenkodogo hosted, this Thursday, the first edition of the Regional University Information and Orientation Day for the Center-East region, now called the Nakamb© region. The ceremony was presided over by the regional governor, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, in the presence of administrative, educational, and university authorities. He stated that the purpose of the day was to better inform new high school graduates about the available courses, the conditions for accessing higher education, and the requirements related to patriotic immersion, now required for all enrollment in public and private universities in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this activity is part of the policy of decentralization of higher education and aims to bring together training offers in the different regions of the country, taking into account local potential. Dr. Cl©ment Dabon©, Regional Director of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Nakamb©, stated that the objective is to provide local information to new high school graduates, in addition to the National Week organized in Ouagadougou. He explained that the program includes communications on training programs in Burkina Faso and abroad, types of scholarships and access conditions, the registration procedure on the Campus Faso platform, as well as the social services offered by CENOU and FONER.
Presentations were provided by representatives of the DGCOB, Campus Faso, the Tenkodogo University Center, and private universities. Participants discussed training and professional integration prospects with the speakers. The authorities have expressed the wish to see this initiative continue in the coming years in order to strengthen university guidance as a lever for supporting young people towards higher education and employment.
