Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has welcomed the decision of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to dissolve itself, calling it a historic step towards peace and stability in the region. "The decision taken by the PKK represents, in my view, a historic and crucial turning point in establishing lasting peace in our region. It is now imperative to move on to concrete measures to ensure its implementation. We will closely monitor its progress," the Turkish foreign minister said at a press conference in Ankara.
