This Monday, September 10, 2024, teachers in the Zorgho basic education district began their traditional annual pedagogical conference. This event, which will last four days until September 13, aims to strengthen the pedagogical capacities of teachers. They are spread across five training sites, including Kambambori 'A', which hosted the official opening ceremony.Under the chairmanship of the President of the Zorgho Special Communal Delegation (PDS), Valentin Badolo, the opening ceremony highlighted the importance of this event in the continuous improvement of the Burkinabe education system. The Head of the Basic Education District, Raogo Jean Claude Ouédraogo, first spoke to welcome the teachers. He thanked them for their constant commitment despite the challenges, before greeting the PDS for its presence.In his speech, Valentin Badolo recalled the challenges facing the education sector, including the devastating effects of terrorist attacks on communities and education. He invited participants to obser ve a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the violence. 'The annual pedagogical conference of teachers, far from being a simple routine, is a platform for reflection that offers teachers the opportunity to exchange, train and immerse themselves in the various innovations undertaken by the Burkinabe State,' he said.This year's theme, "The appropriation of the contents of CE curricula and their practical implementation in classes", aims to train teachers to effectively use the new curricula put in place by the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages. This reform, which has been in the process of being generalized for three years, represents a crucial step in making the education system more efficient. "The objectives of this session are eloquent and the task entrusted to you is arduous", stressed the PDS, urging teachers to have frank and fruitful exchanges.The conference, which will end on September 13, 2024, will be marked by practical workshops and debates, allowing teachers to develop educational sheets and acquire the tools necessary to improve the quality of teaching in their classes.Source: Burkina Information Agency
