Arbor Day: 75,000 plants will be planted in the North

75 thousand plants will be planted this year in the North region (Loroum, Passoré, Yatenga, Zondoma), the AIB learned on Saturday on the occasion of the 5th edition of the day national tree (JNA).

Like the other localities of Burkina, the constituted bodies and the populations of the North region, proceeded to a tree planting within the framework of the 5th edition of the national tree day (JNA).

The Souli sector 1 community health center which served as the setting for the ceremony under the chairmanship of the Governor of the region, Raymond David Valentin Ouédraogo.

Placed under the theme "tree, symbol of resilience of communities in a context of insecurity", this edition was launched earlier than expected in view of the early installation of the winter season.

A total of 750,000 plants of various species will be planted throughout the regional territory (Loroum, Passoré, Yatenga, Zondoma.)

The authority, after having observed a minute of silence in memory of the civilian and military victims of terrorism, welcomed the mobilization of all the actors for the success of the day.

Raymond David Valentin Ouédraogo indicated that the objective of this campaign is to contribute to restoring the vegetation cover with the participation of all the actors of the region in the planting, the protection of the plants and especially the recovery of the land degraded by the reforestation.

The governor, before officially declaring the 2023 campaign launched, invited all the actors to combine efforts for the maintenance of trees and the restoration of the deteriorating environment.
