Bal©: The special delegation of the municipality of Fara recently held its accountability day, focusing on the theme "Optimal development of the municipality, role and attribution of the actors." The event served as a platform for reviewing investments over the past three years and discussing the harmonious development of the area.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the accountability day marks the first such event since the special delegation's members were installed approximately three years ago. The gathering aimed to provide an overview of investments and achievements made by the municipality and its technical and financial partners from 2022 to 2024.
The president of the special delegation (PDS), Aloys Ouango, highlighted the numerous achievements in fields such as education, environment, health, water, local economy, and women's associations. Education and environment sectors received the most investment, with more than 166 million CFA francs allocated to the rehabilitation and construction of school infrastructure, enhancing reception capacity, and improving learning conditions.
In the environmental sector, over 32 million CFA francs were invested in acquiring surveillance equipment, including motorcycles and bicycles for village forest security, honey production tools, improved stoves, and the construction of non-timber forest product processing units. Additionally, four local land charters for village forests and charter books for market gardens were developed.
Several projects are currently being executed in line with the annual investment plan for 2025. The authorities also plan to continue the subdivision project in Fara city.
Aloys Ouango emphasized that the funding for these projects is sourced from state-transferred resources, the local development mining fund, and municipal revenues. Support from 12 main partners has been instrumental in implementing projects in agriculture, environment, and socio-economic infrastructure construction.
Municipal authorities noted the positive impact of these achievements on community life. The ongoing development requires the contribution of all community members. Mr. Ouango urged citizens, CSOs, and nationals to support development efforts, pay taxes, and foster social cohesion.
The event saw active participation from the population, reflecting a strong commitment to the municipality's development. Ass¨ta Kouanda, Secretary General of Bal© province, congratulated the stakeholders for organizing the day.
