Bal©/National Tree Day: The Petit Bal© Grove Revived with 1,250 Plants of 11 Species with Medicinal Value

Boromo: The administrative authorities and the population of Boromo revived the Petit Bal© grove as part of National Tree Day. All socio-professional groups participated in planting 1,250 seedlings under the supervision of environmental services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the presidential initiative "A Patriotic Hour to Green Faso" was a success in the Bal© province with individual and collective tree planting initiatives. In Boromo, the event was marked by the planting of 1,250 plants of 11 species with medicinal value in the Petit Bal© grove, covering an area of ten hectares. This grove, created during the revolution of Captain Thomas Sankara, was revived and now becomes the provincial grove of the Bal©.

The head of the Boromo Badian departmental environment service, Jean Babou, stated that this new grove will serve to promote areas with medicinal value and preserve plant heritage for future generations. The provincial High Commissioner, Martin Bako, welcomed the head of state's initiative and highlighted the strong mobilization of the population at the Petit Bal© site and other locations throughout the city. Mr. Bako also acknowledged the provincial director of the environment, Lacina Traor©, and her agents for their involvement and commitment to developing the site and providing practical advice for successful reforestation.

The authority emphasized that this initiative will enable each province to have a grove, reminding us of our duty to protect and conserve the environment. Commissioner Bako encouraged local residents to get involved in protecting the grove. The chairman of the Boromo special delegation, Esae Bamogo, mentioned that initiatives will be implemented for the maintenance, protection, and success of the grove. He invited youth and women's associations, as well as those of goodwill, to support these efforts.
