Banwa: Children from CP1 to CE2 See Their Talents Valued Through a Competition

Banwa: Students from CP1 to CE2 classes at public and private schools in Solenzo and Kouka took part, from May 15 to August 15, 2025, in a competition called "My Talent," the final of which was held Friday on the grounds of Solenzo School A. The best were rewarded.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the first edition of this activity concerned three disciplines: football, Bible reading, and academic excellence, involving eight Child and Youth Development Centers (CDEJ). Under the theme: "Let's sow peace in hearts through sport," the competition aimed to promote social cohesion and provide a space for expression for children aged 5 to 9.

In the football category, the BF12-19 team emerged victorious against BF10-14 with a score of one goal to zero. They were awarded a set of jerseys, a trophy, a ball, medals, and a sum of 5000 CFA francs. The runner-up also received a set of jerseys, a ball, medals, and the same monetary reward.

The winners of the Bible reading competition were presented with Bibles, cookies, and candy. Meanwhile, those who excelled in academic performance were rewarded with bicycles and school kits for first and second place.

Pastor Issiaka Kindo, who commenced the ceremony with a prayer, highlighted the initiative's goal to awaken and promote hidden talents in children. The president of the organizing committee, Daniel Kabor©, praised the participation of the eight CDEJs and expressed hope for a more enriched and inclusive next edition.
