Ouagadougou: The Bogodogo University Hospital (CHU-B) has demonstrated a significant act of solidarity by extending support to a family that recently welcomed quintuplets. On Thursday, the hospital provided the family with essential food items, detergents, soap, and a monetary contribution of 50,000 FCFA, just 96 hours after the quintuplets were born at the facility.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of CHU-B, Seydou Nombr©, announced the support initiative, emphasizing the hospital's commitment to aiding the family during this critical time. The donation aims to ease the financial burden on the Zerbo family, whose quintuplets were delivered on the night of June 16 to June 17, 2025.
Mr. Nombr© expressed his gratitude towards the medical team at CHU-B for their dedicated care of the newborns and congratulated the parents, Mrs. Zerbo and her husband, on the birth of their five babies. He highlighted the benefits of the free healthcare system at Bogodogo Hospital, which ensured that Mrs. Zerbo received comprehensive care, noting that the system also covers children under five and pregnant women.
The social unit of CHU-B has been instrumental in supporting the father, Boureima Zerbo, and plans to continue this assistance after the family's discharge from the hospital. Professor Solange Ou©draogo, head of the pediatrics department, praised the hospital's gesture and called for further community support for the Zerbo family.
The father of the quintuplets, Boureima Zerbo, expressed his joy and gratitude for the hospital's support. He acknowledged the diligent care his wife received throughout her pregnancy and delivery, attributing the successful birth to the hospital's skilled medical team. The CHU-B's intervention was crucial when Mrs. Zerbo, who was seven months pregnant, faced complications due to high blood pressure.
