Bomborokuy CCEB Engages Parents in Establishment of School Councils

Bomborokuy: The Head of the Bomborokuy Basic Education District (CCEB), Amidou Sanogo, led a meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with parents of students to discuss the creation of school councils. The meeting aimed to address the framework and benefits of implementing these councils within the educational system.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the administrative and educational return to school in the Bomborokuy Basic Education District has been smooth. Amidou Sanogo expressed his appreciation for the teachers and acknowledged the contributions of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in facilitating a successful start to the school year.

During the meeting, Mr. Sanogo highlighted the importance of collective involvement from all stakeholders to overcome challenges and ensure the success of the 2025-2026 school year. He emphasized the urgency of establishing school councils to effectively support the governance of educational institutions.

Inspector Josue Traore presented the concept of school councils, explaining their role in enhancing governance across educational, administrative, financial, and cultural aspects of schools. He clarified that these councils are designed to include all community members, thereby replacing existing structures such as Parents' Associations (APE), Educational Mothers' Associations, and Management Committees (COGES).

In conclusion, Inspector Amidou Sanogo called upon stakeholders to actively participate in the formation of school councils within the Bomborokuy CEB, aiming to foster improved governance and community involvement in the education sector.
