On October 7, Botswana unveiled its first batch of locally assembled electric vehicles in Gaborone, thanks to a partnership with two Chinese companies. Skywell and CHTC Kinwin are collaborating with the Botswana Technology Research and Innovation Institute (BITRI) to produce electric SUVs and buses. President Mokgweetsi Masisi welcomed the initiative as a step towards e-mobility and the use of renewable energy in the country.Source: Africa News Agency
