Boulgou: Tenkodogo Sets the Tone for Urban Transformation with the Presidential Initiative ‘Faso Mªbo’

Boulgou: The city of Tenkodogo hosted, on Monday, the official launch ceremony of the paving and beautification component of the presidential initiative "Faso Mªbo", in the presence of administrative, customary and military authorities, civil society leaders, and many populations who came to reaffirm their civic commitment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, under the leadership of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, the "Faso Mªbo" initiative aims to sustainably redesign the face of the country's cities through sanitation work, development of public spaces, and participatory paving. After Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, the city of Tenkodogo, the capital of the Nakamb© region, is benefiting from this vast, structuring program. The approach adopted is based on voluntary citizen mobilization, soliciting in-kind donations (cement, sand, granite), logistical support, and even hours of work.

The initiators of the project also include actions of community interest such as the treatment of illegal dumps, the development of green spaces, and the reorganization of high-traffic sites. For his part, the governor of the Nakamb© region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, welcomed this presidential initiative, highlighting its already noticeable effects on the ground. He invited the region's daughters and sons, including the diaspora, to follow in the footsteps of the initial donors. "We can create here the spaces we admire elsewhere abroad," he affirmed.

The President of the Tenkodogo special delegation, Sami B©renger Poda, indicated that the areas targeted for the first works were chosen according to strategic criteria, including proximity to major roads, areas of high economic activity, and public places. He announced that more than 150 tons of materials have already been mobilized, illustrating the overwhelming support of the population. He also specified that the work will include sanitation operations, in addition to paving.

The commander of the "Faso Mªbo" brigade of Tenkodogo, Lieutenant Abdoul Fataf Sawadogo, described the initiative as a "citizen revolution", stressing that it constitutes a lever for sustainable transformation, both socially and economically. Immediately, several major donations were made to support the effective start of the work.

The founder of the Saint Emmanuel de Cella high school, Emmanuel K©r©, donated 20 tons of cement. An economic operator, Louis Sorgho, provided a 10-ton vehicle to transport the aggregates, and the association of national language facilitators also donated 5 bags of cement. All speakers welcomed the vision of the Head of State, whose ambition is to build a new, resilient, clean, and proud Burkina, through the direct contribution of each citizen.

Work began today, with priority given to strategic areas already identified. "Faso Mªbo" thus establishes itself as a model of community engagement, a symbol of hope, and a national reference in terms of urban transformation carried out by the people themselves.
