On Sunday, September 8, 2024, the inhabitants of Boussouma gathered for a common cause: the rehabilitation of a culvert on the Boussouma-Beguedo section, approximately eight kilometers long.Following heavy rains recorded between August and September, this important section was closed, making traffic difficult for users.Thanks to the initiative of the Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations of Boussouma, with the support of customary and religious authorities, this means of communication has been restored.The culvert of the village of Batto, essential for the smooth flow of travel between Boussouma and Beguedo, has been restored by the Wayiyans and the inhabitants of Boussouma.This action demonstrates the commitment of citizens to find local solutions to the challenges they face in their daily lives.Naaba Sigri, head of the Boussouma canton, expressed his support for the Coordination of Citizen Monitoring Associations and encouraged the populations of the 16 villages in the canton to actively sup port these community initiatives.Adaman Kamboné, mission officer of the Presidency of Faso for the Centre-East region, and Abdoulaye Gouem, president of the Coordination, welcomed this initiative.They stressed that the activity is in line with the presidential initiative for development. They stressed the importance of such actions which directly contribute to improving the living conditions of the populations.Sahanoune Bayiré, a member of the Citizen Watch from Goulanda, expressed his pride in participating in this activity. 'This action is our way of contributing to the development of Burkina Faso.Faced with a problem, we did not wait for the State to intervene; we took a local initiative.
