Ouagadougou: 447 tonnes of fine coal were unloaded at a site located in the Kossodo industrial zone for processing.The minister in charge of mines and quarries, Yacouba Zabré Gouba was in the Kossodo industrial zone this morning with the minister delegate to the ministry in charge of the economy, to observe the unloading of all the coal cargoes.'This follows the decisions of the last council of ministers which took a certain number of decisions including the transfer of these cargoes from Bobo to Ouagadougou,' declared the minister in charge of mines Yacouba Zabré Gouba.'The committee went to Bobo-Dioulasso last week to ensure that the container references and the seal references correspond to the documentation in their possession and to ensure that these seals have not been violated', added the representative of civil society within the technical supervision committee in the Fine Coal affair, Jonas Hien.He continued that it was following this that these containers were transferred to Ouagadougou for the continuation of the processing process.According to Mr. Hien, it was indicated that the authority which had carried out this observation mission in Bobo Dioulasso, came to ensure that the mission was well executed, and that all the containers actually arrived in Ouagadougou.The minister in charge of mines and quarries, Yacouba Zabré Gouba, recalled that there were other decisions that the council of minister had to take, such as moving towards the signing of an agreement with the company Golden Hand. which should ultimately allow us to move towards the processing of this fine coal.'Ultimately, in the coming months, we should meet here to see what has been done in terms of processing this fine coal,' said Mr. Gouba.In accordance with the decisions of the council of minister, the first official in charge of mines and quarries reassured that 'given the nature of this product and the difficult situation our country is going through, all of the fines and products that will be resulting from this proces sing of fine coal, will be paid for the benefit of the State budget.A total of 650 bags, or 447 tons of fine coal, were transported by 17 trucks from Bobo Dioulasso to Ouagadougou.These decisions fall within the framework of the report relating to the execution of the transactional agreements in the so-called 'Fine Coal' file adopted on Wednesday February 7, 2024 in the Council of Ministers.Source: Burkina Information Agency
