Burkina: ADES-Nord Zondoma Section Reflects on Satisfactory 2024 Activities

Ouagadougou: The Zondoma branch of the Association for Economic and Social Development of the Northern Region (ADES-Nord) held its general meeting on Saturday to review its activities for 2024. Participants deemed the results satisfactory, reflecting on various achievements and challenges.According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting took place on June 21, 2025, in Ouagadougou, where El Hadj Moustapha Zébré conveyed the message from the branch president, El Hadj Salam Traoré. The president urged the people of Zondoma to engage more actively in the province's development.El Hadj Daouda Ouédraogo presented the general results of the previous meeting, which participants appreciated. The assessment covered physical, financial, and moral aspects, along with addressing difficulties and suggesting improvements.From the physical assessment, the coordination committee engaged in meetings, discussions with resource persons, budget validations, and financial resource mobilization. The financial report indic ated that resources of 13,903,500 CFA francs were raised, with total expenditures of 11,590,050 CFA francs, leaving a positive balance of 2,313,450 CFA francs and a final balance of 2,887,450 CFA francs.Ouédraogo noted the participants' satisfaction with the activities and their suggestion to continue the consultation framework to strengthen unity among Zondoma's residents. He highlighted challenges such as time constraints of resource persons, inadequate communication, and frequent budget forecast revisions.Participants recommended enhancing provincial participation in local development initiatives and establishing structures to sustain social cohesion. They also emphasized supporting the FDS and VDP, integrating social cohesion into daily life, and empowering women and youth for economic and social contributions.During the December 2024 meeting, El Hadj Moussa Ouédraogo, CEO of the NKS company, donated motorcycles to the VDP and a communicator. The Association of Customary and Traditional Chiefs of Zo ndoma contributed motorcycles and $1 million to the Combatant Forces, while the Chief of Bascorma and a mission officer at the Presidency of Faso also made significant donations.The ADES-North Zondoma section provided 6 tonnes of food to the VDP, 2,000,000 CFA francs to the province's municipalities, and 500,000 CFA francs for peace efforts.
