The National Agency for Pharmaceutical Regulation (ANRP) advised against "100% natural" aphrodisiacs on Wednesday, but containing Tadalafil, an active ingredient likely to cause headaches, cardiovascular attacks, or even myocardial infarction.The note from the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Regulation (ANRP) dated Wednesday, September 11, 2024 informed the national opinion that aphrodisiac products can cause many side effects such as headaches, dizziness, cardiovascular manifestations, myocardial infarction, because they contain Tadalafil.The press release emphasizes that Tadalafil, which acts on the penis, is used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction on medical prescription.The agency reveals that these include, among others, Maximen cappuccino coffee, Maximen honey, Vitamax doubleshot energy coffee solution and Vitamax kingsman energy candy.The document maintains that in view of the high risk posed by these health products of "substandard or falsified quality on health", the ANRP advises he alth professionals not to prescribe and dispense said products and the population not to use them.Furthermore, the ANRP notes that the importation and marketing of these so-called organic products is suspended throughout the national territory.The agency's statement said that the presence of Tadalafil was detected following a quality control by the Ivorian Agency for Pharmaceutical Regulation (AIRP).Source: Burkina Information Agency
