Burkina: Bogodogo Hospital Saves Woman Pregnant with Quintuplets Following Complications

Ouagadougou: The Bogodogo University Hospital (CHU-B) saved a woman pregnant with 7-month-old quintuplets during the night of Monday, June 16 to Tuesday, June 17, 2025, following complications of high blood pressure. During this critical period, the hospital's on-call team performed an emergency caesarean section to save the mother and her five babies.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the 33-year-old woman arrived at the hospital unconscious and was promptly given appropriate emergency care, a service provided under the free healthcare system. The medical team acted swiftly to address the eclamptic crisis, a severe condition marked by very high blood pressure, ensuring the safety of the mother and her children.

Following the successful surgery, both the patient and her quintuplets, which include three girls and two boys, are reported to be in good health. The head of the obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive medicine department at CHU-B, Professor Charlemagne Ou©draogo, praised the on-call team's professionalism and dedication in managing the emergency situation effectively.

Professor Ou©draogo emphasized the importance of seeking medical attention for all pregnant women, advising them to visit health centers for regular check-ups to prevent similar emergencies.
