Ouagadougou: The Minister of Trade, Industry and Crafts, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, installed eight economic operators in Ouagadougou as members of the special consular delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF).
According to Burkina Information Agency, this special delegation has been designated to ensure the interim period pending the next elections and the entry into office of the new consular representatives, in accordance with the new special statutes of the CCI-BF. The delegation, led by Roland Achille Sow, comprises eight members appointed by the Minister responsible for Commerce on the recommendation of their peers.
Abdoulaye Nabol© and Zanga Seydou Sessouma have been appointed as First and Second Vice Presidents, overseeing Industry and Trade respectively. Ali Porgo assumes the role of Third Vice President, in charge of Services, while Issoufou Maga takes on the position of Fourth Vice President. Donatien Nagalo is the Fifth Vice President, responsible for professional organizations and mobilization. Priscille Zongo, the sole female member on the board, has been appointed Sixth Vice President, tasked with information and external relations. The chairman of the special delegation expressed that his team comprehends the challenges ahead and is prepared to work towards a stronger economy driven by committed entrepreneurs, structured sectors, and industrial policies suited to the country's realities. He emphasized that their mandate is a mission in service of a sovereign Burkina Faso, focused on mastering its economic destiny.
The Minister of Commerce urged the special delegates to foster an inclusive private sector, which he described as the driving force of national development. He encouraged them to establish cohesion and engage with private sector stakeholders to ensure investment projects align with the vision and orientations of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
For context, the Council of Ministers on December 18, 2024, adopted reports relating to the approval of the special statutes of the CCI-BF and the dissolution of the previous Consular Chamber. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry's missions include promoting economic patriotism, mobilizing stakeholders around major state projects, enhancing territorial deployment through innovative local development initiatives, fostering international openness, supporting economic stakeholders in regional, African, and global value chains, and aiding regional economic integration in the Sahel.
